After 15 mile police chase, man escapes on foot.

BURGIN, Ky. (WTVQ) — A white pickup truck took the police on a 15 mile chase across Mercer county early Tuesday morning, according to James Caldwell of the Burgin Police Department.

Just before  midnight, Police say they attempted to stop 28-year-old Trey Cocanougher. The man fled, and officers say the chase resulted in two Harrodsburg cruisers colliding when they attempted to make a turn at the same time.

After wrecking his truck on Allen Ison Road, Cocanougher fled on foot and managed to escape arrest, says Caldwell.

Authorities say Cocanougher has a long criminal history, and if anyone sees the man, they are advised to contact the police.

The officers involved in the collision say they are uninjured.
