Activists to protest in Louisville over carbon emissions
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Members of several environmental and citizen groups are planning a demonstration in Louisville to call for greater controls on carbon emissions.
They plan to march Wednesday afternoon to Metro Hall for a rally. Groups in other cities are also planning to hold similar demonstrations in a combined protest called the People’s Climate Action rally.
In a release the People’s Climate Movement says they are pushing for a reduction in climate emissions. They also hope for a global agreement at a climate meeting taking place in Paris in December.
The march begins at 4:45 on Sixth Street. Groups involved in the rally include the Sierra Club, Louisville Grows, 350 Louisville, Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and Kentuckians For The Commonwealth.
