Accident causes gas leak that closes Old Frankfort Pike

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A section of Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington was closed Monday evening after a traffic accident caused a gas leak, according to Lexington Police. Investigators say a car hit a gas meter, which triggered the leak.

As a result of the accident and subsequent gas leak, Old Frankfort Pike was closed between South Yarnallton Pike and Redd Road, while Columbia Gas repaired the leak.

The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m.
