Above average temperatures with near daily storm chances

Warm and Breezy Conditions Continue

Temperatures to kick start Tuesday morning begin in the low 60s with winds out of the southwest up to 20 mph. Partly cloudy skies will lead to peeks of sunshine and could also bring a few rogue sprinkles, though most of the Bluegrass will stay dry through the morning hours.

The afternoon shapes up much the same, with highs climbing to near 80 degrees. Winds will remain a big story, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph at times, adding a bit of a blustery feel despite the springlike warmth.

Dry Start Leads to Midweek Showers

Wednesday morning starts off in a similar fashion, mild, breezy, and mainly dry. Clouds will gradually increase through the morning as a nearby front begins to influence the region.

By late morning into the afternoon, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will begin to develop. While widespread severe weather is not expected, a few storms could produce brief gusty winds or small hail. High temperatures will still run warm, pushing into the upper 70s and low 80s.

More Warmth, Then More Rain Chances

The warm pattern doesn’t go anywhere late in the week. Thursday brings another round of gusty winds and even warmer temperatures, with highs again reaching the low to mid 80s.

That warmth comes with another chance for showers and storms, especially later in the day and into the night. While the severe threat remains low for now, periods of rain are likely.

Watching the Weekend

Another system arrives over the weekend, bringing additional chances for showers and thunderstorms. This system may be a bit stronger than the others, though it’s still too early to pin down exact impacts.

Temperatures will stay above normal through the end of the week before cooling down behind that weekend cold front.
