AAA predictions for holiday travel
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – More than 1.5 million Kentuckians are gearing up to hit the roads and skies for the year-end holidays, contributing to a record-breaking 119 million travelers nationwide, according to AAA.
AAA is urging travelers to exercise caution on the roads. Drivers are reminded to stay alert, avoid distractions, and buckle up as they navigate the busy travel season. December 22nd is projected to be the busiest travel day, so planning ahead is crucial to avoid heavy traffic.
Air travel is also seeing an increase, with over 45,000 Kentuckians flying—a nearly 10% rise from last year. Popular holiday destinations include Orlando, Miami, and Honolulu.
