A warm Friday with a weekend front to shake things up
A summer-like end to the work week
Our Friday looks very average for this time of the year, with temperatures trending in the upper 80s, humidity having us feel a bit muggy, and mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. We will start with some cloud cover, but that will clear quicker than it did yesterday, leading to today’s slightly higher temperatures. There is a chance for isolated showers in far southeastern KY, but those look to remain outside of our area.
A slightly rainy weekend
We’re looking at some isolated PM rain chances for Saturday, with only a few of us seeing some brief periods of rain and maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Sunday, our storm chances remain isolated and also slide towards eastern KY as a cold front pushes through the bluegrass region. Despite rain chances, anybody with outdoor plans should still be good to go, as most will stay dry, and anyone who does catch a stray shower will only see some brief impacts.
A fall preview for next week
Temperatures have been consistently trending below average to start our next work week, with models having daily highs in the upper 70s and overnight lows in the upper 50s. This is a bit out of the ordinary for August, but overall, nothing too crazy. You might have to break out the sweatshirts from storage a tad early, depending on whether the upper 70s feels cool to you, like it does to me! We’re also trending dry and inactive for next week, with lots of sunshine in the forecast.
