A snowy morning for some, cold temperatures for all

Snowy in southern KY, calm elsewhere

Friday morning, a Winter Weather Advisory was in effect until 7 am. Even past this, snow will fall through late morning. Expect minor travel impacts, especially south of the mountain parkway. Everyone else is dry and will see no impacts. Temperatures are cold across the board, starting in the 20s.

The rest of Friday will be mostly cloudy and cold. This afternoon, temperatures will only reach the mid-30s. A few flurries may fall through the day, but no accumulation or impacts will occur

The first half of the weekend is calm, the second half looks unsettled

Saturday keeps the cold and dry trend going with temperatures below average, only in the low 40s. Again, we may see a few rogue flurries through the day. Saturday night, a cold front will move through.

Sunday is when we see the chance for rain, looking very light as little moisture will be available. On the back end of the system, some light snow may fall. Overall, impacts are expected to be low.

Next week may be active

Monday will start calm, but we’re still in an active pattern with weather systems looking to move through every couple of days. We’ll watch for the potential for another cold front to push through mid-week.
