A HOT next couple day before more storms move in
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Sunday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Good Sunday evening everyone, it has been a warm and sunny day across Kentucky and we are about to crank it up another notch the next couple of days. Monday and Tuesday will both feature mild overnight lows into the low 60s with hot afternoon highs in the upper 80s to near 90 with plenty of sunshine. Hit the lakes and pools!
The first half of Wednesday is dry with temperatures in the low 80s, but scattered storms go up late afternoon.
That turns into more widespread rain and storms late Wednesday into early Thursday.
That could spark a few strong to locally severe storms during that timeframe with the greatest chance as of now just to our north and west. That is where the SPC is already highlighting for a severe chance.
Scattered showers and storms will then continue into Thursday and Friday with both days seeing highs coming down a bit into the 70s. Neither day is a wash out either, but we will have a good deal of scattered storms.
Storms look to become more isolated into the upcoming Memorial Day weekend with high temperatures getting back into the 80s.
As always, stay up to date through it all both on-air and online with the ABC 36 Storm Team. #kywx
