A foggy Friday leading into a drier weekend

Dense morning fog

This morning started with Dense Fog Advisories in many counties in the NW Bluegrass area. Even outside of those advisories, many saw areas of fog reducing visibility to 1/2 to 1/4 of a mile. These advisories expire at 10 AM, as the sun will help to warm us and dissipate fog. If you run into any dense fog, be sure to slow down, turn off high beams, and leave plenty of room between you and the car ahead of you.

A mild and dry afternoon

We’ll be partly cloudy and dry today. There is a slight chance for some isolated showers/drizzle to the far SE, but almost all of us will stay dry. This afternoon we’ll see high temperatures in the upper 70s. Towards the evening, we’ll cool to the low 70s. This will make for some perfect Football Friday Night weather.

Warm and calm for the weekend

Saturday will look very similar to Friday with the slight chance for some isolated showers in far eastern KY, but most will stay fully dry all day. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s Saturday with partly cloudy skies, and we’re back to the low 80s Sunday with more sunshine. It’ll be a great weekend weather-wise to get outside and enjoy fall activities, such as visiting an apple orchard or pumpkin patch. One thing to keep in mind: The mud! We had nearly 2-4″ of rain this week across the Bluegrass, so the ground will be wet. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty!
