A chilly morning with record breaking low temperatures
A cooler start to the day, but a warmer afternoon
This morning, many of us saw temperatures in the upper 40s. In Lexington, we dipped to 46, breaking our previous record of 49 set in 1968. We’ve been slow to warm but will eventually reach the 60s by lunchtime. Afternoon high temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s, which is a bit warmer than what we saw yesterday.
Warm through the week, but not hot
Temperatures are trending near 80 for Thursday and Friday, feeling warm but still a bit below average. Saturday looks to remain in that same range of the upper 70s to lower 80s, which makes for an absolutely beautiful UK football forecast with lots of sunshine and light winds.
The rest of the long weekend sees little change
We’re continuing to see a cold front forecast to hang just to our north, not really bringing much threat in terms of rain chances, but likely going to keep cloud cover around. This will put a damper on any warmer temperatures we previously thought we’d see, keeping us closer to the low 80s. This may mean less than ideal swimming conditions for Labour Day, but we do still see summer-like trends towards the middle of next week.
