A calm and mild start to the work week
This morning started nice and cool
Temperatures for many were in the upper 50s and lower 60s just before sunrise. We should see temperatures warming to the 70s by late morning. For our lunchtime, many will begin to see the low 80s. We’ll have lots of sunshine with a light northeastern breeze. It’ll be a great day to have lunch outside! By late afternoon and into the early evening, many will see daytime high temperatures in the mid to possibly even upper 80s.
Tropical Storm Imelda’s effect on the Bluegrass
We won’t see much from Imelda; however, some cloud cover is expected to move into the southeast this afternoon. Then Tuesday, there is a small chance for a few isolated showers in far southeastern KY. Almost all of us will stay dry as Imelda is expected to turn and head out into the Atlantic, leaving most of her impacts closer to the coast. This cloud cover will linger for the middle of our week, but we’ll still have plenty of sunshine between the clouds.
Temperatures trending above average
All through the week, temperatures are expected to remain in the 80s. Today will likely be the warmest day in the upper 80s. Long-term temperature outlooks have us continuing to trend above average. Keep in mind that our average temperatures are decreasing every day, so this doesn’t necessarily mean that we will be super hot, just a bit warmer than usual. For those who love summer, you get to hold onto it a bit longer. Others like me who are craving fall, we’ll still have to hold out just a bit.
