A beautiful labor day forecast with some changes to come
Monday brings many things to celebrate
Happy Labor Day, happy first day of September, and happy first day of meteorological fall! Meteorologists use September 1 as the first day of fall for easier record-keeping. So if you didn’t want to wait the 22 days until the autumnal equinox, feel free to say that you’re celebrating the meteorological way. In addition to this, our Labor Day forecast is looking splendid with temperatures staying mild in the upper 50s-lower 60s before lunch, reaching the low-mid 80s by afternoon. Most will stay dry with just a few clouds; however, towards southern Kentucky, we may see a bit more cloud cover and a few isolated showers. Most should stay dry, though, which is great if you have any outdoor holiday plans.
Scattered rain chances begin tomorrow
You’ll likely need to break out the rain gear starting Tuesday, as we’ll see isolated to scattered rain showers beginning as early as the morning hours. Moving through the day, we’ll see scattered (40%) chances for rain. This repeats for Wednesday. Thursday is when we see a bigger rain chance as a cold front moves through. We’ll likely have some more widespread shower chances (60%) for the morning and late afternoon, with rain and clouds clearing up by the evening.
Fall-like end to the week
Temperatures will be in the low 80s before the cold front moves through. Then we see temperatures drop into the mid-70s after the front, trending closer to the upper 70s by the end of the week and weekend. Cool, dry air being pumped in from the north has us feeling very autumnal for the first week of September, around 10 degrees below average during some parts of the week.
