Bevin speaks to judge executives at annual conference

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky’s governor took to the podium Thursday night as keynote speaker for an annual conference held by the association for Kentucky’s county judge executives.

After an introduction from the KCJEA president, Governor Matt Bevin got personal as he spoke in front of what organizers called a record crowd for the 34th annual winter conference. The governor spoke about current events like the stockyard fire, comparing it to a fire which destroyed his family’s bell business.

The governor also took the opportunity to touch on his proposed budget, breaking it down by a few points and reminding the group of his goals and purpose.

As for the judge executives, Bevin’s message focused on accountability and collaboration. Bevin says that’s the key to spreading success to each corner of the state.

“There is the ability to collaborate and good ideas come from that. These judge executives, iron sharpens iron, and they can work together to make these things happen and I think that’s important so at the end of the day, we as a state have an obligation to ensure every corner of this state is being well taken care of,” says Bevin.
