Police: Beware Of Laurel County Health Dept. Phone Scam

Police said someone who claimed to be from the Laurel County Health Department was calling people and asking for donations.

The caller said the money was for t-shirts to give to children.

But it was all a hoax.

The Laurel County Health Department said it knew nothing about the so-called fundraiser.

Anyone who received one of the scam phone calls was asked to call police at 606-874-7004.
