Driver Caught In Flash Flood Waters In Lexington

A driver was briefly stranded in his car after getting caught in flash flood waters at Lyon Drive and Fort Harrods Drive in Lexington Thursday evening, according to Lexington firefighters.

Investigators said the man was safely out of the car by the time firefighters arrived.

The driver was not hurt.

Firefighters said it served as a reminder to all drivers to never try to drive through high water or a flooded road.

Firefighters said as some isolated storms moved through the city, there were small pockets of power outages due to downed power lines and one transformer that was smoking, but never actually on fire.

Firefighters said there were no weather-related injuries reported.
