Fayette confirms a ‘low’ 227 new COVID cases

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As a sign of the continuing surge, Fayette County reported 227 new coronavirus cases for Friday, which is one of the lowest numbers in the last three weeks but still well over 200.

The county has recorded 1,229 in the first four days of the month.

Lexington’s 227 new cases bring the total to 18,632 since the outbreak began in March, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s daily report Saturday morning.

The county recorded one death, bringing the total to 129.

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, follow these guidelines:
• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others
• Wash your hands often
• Stay home if you are sick.
