COVID case numbers, death toll mount in Fayette

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – With 237 cases Friday, Fayette County recorded its fourth highest day for new coronavirus cases and sixth day of more than 200 cases in less than two weeks.

Friday’s cases pushed the county’s total to 15,000, meaning the county confirmed 1,000 cases in just five days, the fastest yet, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s morning report Saturday.

Fayette has reported 4,000 cases since Oct. 29.

The county reported three more deaths, raising the county’s total to 112.

• Wear a cloth face-covering in public
• Avoid close contact with others

The county has had only one day under 100 — Sunday, Nov. 1 at 97 — this month.
