Over 5 inches of rain fell over the weekend in some Kentucky counties
Heavy showers and thunderstorms caused flash flooding issues across central Kentucky over the weekend. Rainfall totals from the Kentucky Mesonet at WKU show some counties recorded over 5 inches of rain. The following are some of the more notable counties that recorded high rainfall rates in a 48 hour time span, from Saturday morning to Monday morning.
Casey County: 3.58″
Jackson County: 4.94″
Morgan County: 5.52″
Fayette County: 2.16″
Lincoln County: 2.55″
Mercer County: 1.94″
Adair County: 2.53″
Cumberland County: 3.52″
