State’s coronavirus numbers remain stable

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky’s coronavirus cases remained stable Wednesday.

Gov. Andy Beshear reported 191 new cases and seven deaths. The new cases brought the state’s total to 11,883 in the last three months. The state has now record 485 deaths.

Of the new deaths, three were in Logan County, and one each were Jefferson, Simpson, Larue and Hardin counties.

The state has confirmed 302,347 tests, although some of those are the same people being retested.

A total of 508 people remain in the hoospital, which is down from Tuesday’s numbers and 68 people are in ICU, also down from Tuesday.

As importantly, the number of people who have recovered reached 3,375.Of the new cases,  49 are in Jefferson, 36 in Fayette, 22 in Warren, six in Jessamine,  four in Franklin, three each in Harrison and Woodford, among others, two each in Clay, Bourbon, and Clark, among others, and one each in Pulaski, Powell, and Whitley, among others.

“The numbers continue to show the disease is out there and dangerous,” Beshear said, encouraging people to continue to practice health and safety guidelines, such as wearing masks and social distancing.

“The increase doesn’t have us concerned yet, but we still must follow the healthy at work rules,” he said. “The questions remain are we finding a new plateau, are we seeing more asymptomatic people, it’s all questions we are asking.”
