Lexington Police warning citizens of a phone scam

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police are warning people of a phone scam.

Police say scammers, impersonating officers, have been calling people demanding money in order to clear up an arrest warrant.

They say the number is local and the caller may even use a real officer’s name.

People who receive these calls are advised to hang up immediately.
