Warmup ahead before rain and a weekend cooldown

Chilly Morning, Warmer Afternoon

Wednesday morning begins on a cool note, with temperatures in the upper 30s to mid 40s and a few colder spots dipping into the 30s. Skies remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, allowing for a crisp start.

By the afternoon, sunshine and increasing southwest winds help temperatures climb quickly into the upper 60s and 70s. A few passing clouds may drift overhead, but conditions stay dry and pleasant.

Spotty Showers, Then Near-Record Warmth

A weak disturbance moving through the Ohio Valley may bring scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder late at night into early morning. Severe weather is not expected, and many areas may only see brief rainfall.

Once that system moves out, much warmer air builds in. Afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid 80s. Breezy conditions will add to the springlike feel.

Cold Front Brings Rain and Falling Temperatures

The warm stretch will be short-lived as a cold front pushes through. This system offers the best chance for widespread rain, especially in the morning. A few gusty showers are possible, but severe weather is not expected.

Temperatures may start mild but will fall steadily through the day, dropping into the 50s by the afternoon as cooler air takes over.

Cooler Weekend, Then Another Warm-Up

High pressure returns for the weekend, bringing dry but cooler conditions. Morning temperatures could fall into the upper 20s and low 30s, with afternoon highs mainly in the 50s under sunny skies.

The cooldown won’t last long. Temperatures begin to rebound early next week, climbing into the 60s and eventually the 70s, with another small chance for rain as the active spring pattern continues.
