Six people taken to hospital after apartment fire

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Six people have been taken to the hospital after a fire at an apartment complex.

According to the Lexington Fire Department, around 4:15 Saturday afternoon crews were called to the 1200 block of Village Drive for a fire.

Officials say the fire started on a second floor unit and spread to nearby units. Crews were able to contain the fire and put out hot spots.

LPD says four adults and two children have been taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At least 10 apartment units have been affected. The number of people displaced is still unknown at this time.
