Jeffersonville man arrested on multiple charges
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — An 18-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he assaulted residents, damaged property and set several fires inside a Jeffersonville home.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the incident Jan. 25 and identified the suspect as Zachary Scott, 18, of Jeffersonville.
Investigators say Scott assaulted people inside the residence, destroyed property and ignited multiple fires inside the home. Deputies were able to enter the residence, extinguish the fires and take Scott into custody without incident.
One deputy was treated at the scene by Montgomery County Fire & EMS for minor injuries. No serious injuries were reported, officials said.
Scott was charged with second-degree arson, third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer and fourth-degree assault. He was taken to the Montgomery County Regional Jail, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.
