People out for last minute holiday shopping
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Christmas is just two days away and some people are still out doing some last minute shopping for friends and loved ones.
“It was a last minute decision. But I do have a couple of things I wanted to get,” said Suzanne Ackers.
Some are even people are even shopping together.
“Kind of shopping for the granddaughters,” said Anne Merchant. “Yeah, we’re looking for stuff that we want,” said Grace Chambers.
Some shoppers, like Melissa McIntyre, have been finishing up shopping over the past few days.
“I mean it was a little hectic, traffic was terrible,” said Melissa. “But you know it is what it is, everybody kind of waits until the last minute. Everybody’s busy, but hopefully we’ll get it all done.”
Rabiya Syed, with Fayette Mall, says they have extended their hours after seeing quite a few people coming to finish up shopping.
“People getting really excited to get those last minute gifts, that time flew by and it’s almost Christmas,” said Syed. “So people are able to shop in person, look at all of our amazing stores and get some nice gifts that they didn’t even know existed.”
For anyone planning to do extra last minute shopping, the Fayette mall will be open Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
