Blustery and cold Wednesday as wind chills dip into the 30s
Wednesday
Winds are gusty today, up to 30-35 mph. This is especially true in northern portions of the Bluegrass. This blustery day will have wind-chill temperatures about 10 degrees below our actual air temperatures. So even though this afternoon will be in the mid- to upper 40s, it’ll feel closer to the upper 30s.
Thanksgiving – Black Friday
By Thursday morning, high pressure will be building into the area. Cold temperatures and gusty winds will continue moving through the Bluegrass. Anyone heading out for a Turkey Trot will want to wear proper layers. By the afternoon, temperatures will only be in the upper 30s. Blustery conditions will continue, bringing wind chill values down into the 20s. This is the same for Friday, where morning temperatures will be in the teens and 20s. Early Black Friday shoppers will want to bundle up.
Weekend Outlook
Forecast trends are continuing to show a system moving through the region this coming weekend. The path of this system will play a big role in what we see. This system may track far to our north, and we would see some rain showers. However, if the system moves directly over Kentucky, we may see a few flurries mixed in. It is becoming more likely that we may see a few flurries ahead of mainly rainfall, but this forecast could easily change. It’s important to take the forecast with a grain of salt and just be prepared for the possibility of travel impacts this weekend.
