Pleasantly warm for the middle of the week
Mild temperatures for mid-week
Temperatures started mild on Wednesday morning, with many in the 40s and 50s. By the afternoon, we’ll reach the upper-60s. Some will be near 70. We’ll see lots of sunshine and some upper-level clouds. Winds will be gusty out of the SW up to 20-25 mph. A weak cold front moves through overnight, cooling down lows to the 30s for tomorrow morning. Thursday will be seasonal in the low 60s and clear skies
Storms to end the week
Cloud cover will build into Friday morning. We’ll have isolated rain chances through the morning. The main event comes in the afternoon and evening as a line of showers and t-storms moves through. This will bring lightning, heavy downpours, and some gusty winds, especially towards the southwest. Rain chances will clear out overnight, leaving us dry for Saturday, with only a few isolated showers possible early morning.
Big temperature change ahead
Saturday will be dry and cool for UK gameday. You’ll definitely want a jacket and some layers as temperatures will quickly cool following sunset, making for chilly tailgating. Saturday night, a strong cold front will move through. Behind it, cold temperatures will move into the region. We will also see scattered showers through Sunday morning. It’s possible that with the cold rush of air, we see a few isolated flurries in high elevation areas like far eastern KY. Most of us will stay dry starting next week, just chilly with lows in the 20s and highs in the 40s for Monday. We’ll quickly see temperatures returning to average later in the week.
