Weigh in on proposed rate increases for electric and gas bills
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — The Public Service Commission is holding a meeting on Tuesday to discuss proposed rate increases for LG&E and KU, electric and gas bills.
According to the PSC, the last rate increase was in 2020.
KU is asking for an 11 1/2% increase.
LG&E is asking for an 8.3% increase for electric and 14% for natural gas.
If approved, customers could pay up to $18 more a month.
Residents are able to weigh in on the proposed increases Tuesday afternoon. A public meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. at BCTC on Newtown Pike.
