Kentucky takes down Eastern Michigan behind McGowan’s big day
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) – The Kentucky Wildcats move to 2-1 on the young season with a 48-23 thrashing of Eastern Michigan. This game was a bounce back for the Wildcats after last week’s seven point loss to Ole Miss.
The big headline heading into this game revolved around the quarterback change from Zach Calzada to Cutter Boley, due to Calzada’s injury. Boley went 12/21 for 240 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. This was the most passing yards the cats had in a game thus far and set a new career high in passing yards for Boley.
The star of the game, however, was running back Seth McGowan. McGowan had 18 carries in this game, he also tallied 104 yards and three touchdowns on the game. This would improve McGowan’s season total in touchdowns to six.
The Wildcats will enter a bye week next week before fully getting into conference play. Kentucky will play at South Carolina on September 27th. The time of that game is still to be announced.
