Scammers posing as L.F.A.C.C staff
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control is warning the public about a new scam involving callers posing as LFACC employees.
According to the agency, scammers are contacting people by phone, demanding money and threatening to delay or deny pet care services. LFACC says it never asks for payments over the phone.
All reclaim fees must be paid in person, with a receipt provided. Officials also emphasize that their officers always wear uniforms and drive marked vehicles.
Anyone who receives a suspicious call is urged to report it to Lexington Police and the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center. LFACC encourages the public to stay vigilant and help protect others from falling victim.
