Brief chance for rain tonight and temps sink to the mid 20s

The start of the work week brings a much needed break from the rain. Parts of central Kentucky still under several feet of water due to the deadly flooding. Several counties reporting between 8-10 inches of rain in the past week. There is a chance for brief showers tonight as a cold front sinks to the east/southeast, but it should be a mostly quiet night.  Overnight, skies will clear out behind the cold front and temperatures will plummet to the mid 20s, leaving most of central and eastern Kentucky under a freeze warning Tuesday morning.

Sunshine returns Tuesday, but the cooler temperatures stick around, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s. The freeze warning is likely to return overnight Tuesday/Wednesday morning as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing again.

We will see increasing clouds Wednesday as a cold front approaches from the west.  Rain and storm chances return late Wednesday night/Thursday morning and continue through Friday mid-day. Highs

are expected in the 50s and 60s to finish the work week.

The weekend forecast is looking wonderful with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 50s Saturday and Mid 60s on Sunday.
