“Just check on your friends, man.” Three dead after murder-suicide
CRAB ORCHARD, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Three people have died after a murder-suicide in Lincoln County.
According to Kentucky State Police, 30-year-old Spencer Baldwin shot 40-year-old Dennis Perry and 30-year-old Heather Baldwin before allegedly turning the gun on himself.
KSP says the shooting happened around 11:45Thursday night at an apartment on Main Street in Crab Orchard. KSP also says Perry and Heather Baldwin were in the home when Spencer Baldwin showed up there.
TJ Bussell says he knew Spencer from school and was shocked to hear this had happened.
“He was always a good kid in school, never really bothered anybody, never really tried to instigate any violence or anything,” said Bussell. “So this kind of came out of no where, kind of breaks my heart really.”
Perry was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died early Friday morning.
Heather Baldwin was also taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died at the hospital.
Spencer Baldwin was pronounced dead on the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner.
According to a KSP spokesperson, Heather and Spencer Baldwin were married, but separated. He also told us they had three children together.
Bussell gave this advice to people in the community.
“Just check on your friends man. I guess if you don’t want something like this to happen or don’t want to wake up to something like this check, pry, invade their personal space.”
KSP is investigating the shooting and what led up to it.
