Semi collides with snow plow in Lyon County

LYON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky State Police are urging drivers to keep a safe distance from snow plows after a semi-truck rear-ended a state transportation snow plow Tuesday night.

According to state police, the crash happened just before 7 p.m. on I-24 eastbound in Lyon County, causing traffic disruptions. Investigators say snow-covered roads and limited visibility were contributing factors in the collision.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the snow plow was able to continue treating roads and removing snow, according to police.

Authorities are reminding drivers to exercise caution during winter weather, reduce speeds, and allow plenty of space when traveling near road crews working to clear hazardous conditions.
