Roller coaster temperatures for your Tuesday

Tuesday’s temperatures have an interesting twist with the morning low occurring mid-morning, due to a cold front sinking to the east/southeast. Temps dip to the mid 40s mid-morning before rebounding to the low/ mid 50s by the later afternoon hours. Quiet conditions continue today, although that won’t last long, as rain and possible t-storm chances head our way Wednesday.

A warm front will move from the southern Kentucky to northern Kentucky throughout the day Wednesday.  Southern Kentucky will see temps in the 50s and possibly even the 60s, while areas north of the front will likely only see the 40s during the afternoon hours.  Once the front passes through Kentucky, warm air advection will bump temps to the 50s across the area during the late evening hours Wednesday.  Rain chances remain Thursday as a cold front moves through Kentucky.

A high pressure brings calm weather briefly for our Friday with temps peaking in the mid/upper 40s. Keep your rain gear handy for the weekend; rain chances make their way back to the area, as another cold front sweeps through. The front is expected to move out earlier Sunday, giving us a

dry afternoon and evening.  Temps plunge behind the front, with highs peaking in the mid 40s Sunday and upper 30s/low 40s Monday.
