Cram a Cruiser with Winchester Police

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Officers with the Winchester Police Department hosted ‘Cram a Cruiser’ outside the Winchester Walmart on Saturday.

‘Cram a Cruiser’ began at 8 a.m. and lasted until 4.

Teenagers, who are part of the Police Explorers Program, were also in attendance for the event.

Officials say they had received around 300 toys by 2 p.m. And had raised a fair amount of money through donations.

The gifts will go to underprivileged kids in Clark County.

Officials spoke about getting to help these kids during the holidays.

“It means more than anything,” said Patrolman Jansen Thomas. “It’s awesome, we’re more than excited to be out here and give back. Especially everybody coming together during the Christmas holidays, it’s a great time.”

Afterwards, they went inside to buy more toys and finish filling the cruiser.

The gifts will be given out in the middle of December.
