LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Tuesday! You’ll need your jacket for most of the day today with morning temperatures in the upper 30s and afternoon highs struggling to get out of the low-to-mid 50s. This will likely be our first day so far this month with below average temperatures, that is how warm it has been so far this November! Skies will remain mostly sunny throughout the day with a northeasterly breeze. Tonight will be a little cooler than last night with lows falling into the mid-to-upper 30s for most of the area.

Your Wednesday will start off chilly, but it will be pleasant by the afternoon. Temperatures will spike into the mid-60s. This will be ahead of a rain moving in Wednesday evening into the overnight hours. The first of the rain showers will push in from the west during the early evening hours. This rain will be generally light. The heaviest of the rain will be moving in by around 10 or 11 o’clock and last through the early morning hours of Thursday. The heavy rain should exit by the morning commute on Thursday, though there will be lingering lighter showers through the daytime. The heaviest of the rain (1″-1.5″) will be across central and south-central Kentucky, while eastern Kentucky will see upwards of inch at most. Temperatures will also take a hit on Thursday with most areas not getting out of the mid-50s.

We will gradually dry things our Thursday night into Friday. You can expect some cloud cover to linger into the day on Friday. Temperatures once again will struggle to get out of the mid-to-upper 50s.

The weekend looks really nice across the region. Saturday will start off chilly with pleasant temperatures into the upper 50s and low 60s for afternoon. Sunday will be a touch warmer, climbing into the low-to-mid 60s.

We have our eyes on a potential active weather pattern by mid-to-late next week. This could bring storms across the region and also could bring us a pattern change with some colder air.
