LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Monday! It certainly feels like a Monday with the dreary conditions to start the day. A isolated-to-widely scattered showers are continuing for the first half of the day. We will begin to dry out and try to clear the skies out a bit by the late afternoon. Temperatures today will struggle to get out of the upper 70s for most areas. If we squeak out enough sunshine we may be able to reach the low 80s, but if it remains mostly cloudy you can expect us to remain in the upper 70s. Skies will slowly try to clear out tonight as the fall-like feel settles in.
A day straight out of late September or early October can be expected on Tuesday. Afternoon highs will struggle to get out of the mid-70s for most of us. There will be a northerly breeze that will be around through most of the day as well. Occasionally gusting close to 20 mph. Early Keeneland weather??? Yeah… That’s what it’s reminding me of.
Wednesday morning we will be approaching record low territory. The record low in Lexington is 49 and our forecast has Lexington at 51, so it is possible! Wednesday afternoon will only be a touch warmer than Tuesday. Thursday morning will be another very cool morning, with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s.
Thursday afternoon is where we begin to warm up a touch. Afternoon highs on Thursday will be in the low-to-mid 80s. This is ahead of a warm-up into the weekend. Afternoon highs Saturday and Sunday will return to the 90s in many spots.
It’s also going to be very dry. Our next chance of any rain won’t be until later next week.
