LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) -In a mass shooting early Friday morning, six people were shot at El Cid’s.

said building owner Chad Walker. “This is in my opinion an extremely isolated incident and we are doing everything we can to make sure not only are the people caught, but this doesn’t happen again.”
Shelby Reynolds has lived in the neighborhood behind the restaurant for 37 years and owns a business on national avenue as well.
“It’s certainly concerning and alarming,” said Reynolds. “Hopefully it can be resolved. It could keep people from coming in to the neighborhood, but I’m sure it will blow over eventually. It might have some repercussions initially.”
Walker says right now, he isn’t worried about the shooting having any impact on businesses on national avenue.
“More than anything someone lost their life and that’s the part that really paints it in our day to day. We don’t want anybody to be hurt, we definitely don’t want anybody to be killed and that’s the part that’s tough to deal with.”
Just a few months ago, El Cid was given an eviction notice.
On Wednesday, the court ruled they had to be out on Monday, August 12
Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to check their surveillance camera footage and contact the Lexington police at (859) 258-3600 if they have footage that may help the investigation.
