Road repairs, closures scheduled for Louisville Metro area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Bullitt, Franklin, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties can expect some road closures during the week of June 3.

According to the transportation cabinet, crews will be out patching potholes, sweeping, cleaning drains and ditches, marking pavement and working on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area.

The crews will only be working during non-peak daytime hours and at night.

The transportation cabinet says drivers should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the district on a daily basis.

Below is a list of scheduled closures, courtesy of the transportation cabinet.

Jefferson County:

Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays in both directions under the Clark Memorial Bridge (mile marker 4.7) due to bridge inspection. Lane closures are scheduled for Sunday, June 3 and Monday, June 4 from 10 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

Interstate 65 North: Exit ramp to Broadway/Chestnut Street (Exit 136A) will be closed due to paving on Brook Street at the bottom of this ramp. Ramp closure scheduled for Monday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 6 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.

Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible at the I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) interchange due to sign replacement. Lane closures are possible weekdays 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. All ramps will remain open during this work.

Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible near Zorn Avenue (mile marker 1.7) due to painting of steel bridge beams. Lane closures also possible at Poplar Hill Court (mile marker 3.9) due to installation of rigging for painting platforms. Lane closures are possible in the evenings from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.

Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Lane closures and delays possible between Interstate 65 and KY 864 (Beulah Church Road), mile markers 10.2 to 15.6, due to concrete pavement repairs. Lane closures are possible on weekends from 9 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday. The entrance ramp from KY 61 North (Preston Highway) to I-265 East will be closed the weekend of June 1-3.

US 31: Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction on the Clark Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River (mile markers 0.0 to 1.1) due to bridge cleaning and painting. Additional lane closures are possible in the evenings from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be directed through the work zone during those hours using flagging operations. Sidewalks are closed to pedestrians and cyclists.

US 31W (Dixie Highway) South: The right lane is closed at Millers Lane (mile marker 17.0) due to waterline relocation.

US 31W (Dixie Highway): Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Greenwood Road and Heaton Road (mile markers 11.7 to 14.5) due to construction for access management and bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two lanes on northbound Dixie Highway between Greenwood Road and Blanton Lane and two lanes on southbound Dixie Highway between Heaton Road and Upper Hunters Trace.

US 31W (Dixie Highway): Lane closures and delays possible between Stonestreet Road and Greenwood Road (mile markers 9.7 to 11.7) due to traffic detection loops and transition to new signals. Lane closures are possible weeknights in the northbound lanes from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and in the southbound lanes from 9:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Additional lane closures are possible from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and from 9:00 p.m. on Saturday until 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

US 31E (Main Street): Sidewalk closures and parking restrictions in place between Clay Street and Jackson Street (mile markers 17.1 to 17.3) due to streetscape improvements.

US 42 (Story Avenue): Lane closures and delays possible between Frankfort Avenue and Main Street (mile markers 0.0 to 0.7) due to roadway milling and resurfacing. Lane closures scheduled Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 from 7 p.m. each evening until 6 a.m. the following morning for milling of old pavement. Lane closures possible weeknights for paving from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

US 60A (Eastern Parkway): Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction between Poplar Level Road and Royal Avenue (mile markers 5.5 to 5.9) due to bridge replacement. Speed limit in work zone is reduced to 25 mph.

KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway) South: Lane closures and delays possible at intersection with Taylorsville Road (mile markers 10.9 to 11.1) due to extension of turning lanes. Lane closures are possible Sunday – Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Daytime lane closures are possible weekdays in the right turn lanes at this intersection.

CR 1004 (Springdale Road): Roadway will be reduced to one lane at the bridge over Interstate 71 due to bridge joint repairs. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 5 and a temporary signal will be in place to control traffic.

Bullitt County:

KY 44 (Old Mill Road): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Bogard Lane/Lloyd Lane (mile marker 18.5) due to shoulder work. Lane closures are possible nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.

KY 61 (Preston Highway): Lane closures and delays between KY 44 and Hillbrook Drive (mile marker 14.5 to 17.7) due to roadway widening and realignment. Motorists should watch for equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

KY 480 (Cedar Grove Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Lickskillet Creek Bridge and the Bullitt/Nelson County line (mile markers 3.3 to 11.7) due to drainage and safety improvements.

Franklin County:

Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible in both directions from the US 60 interchange in Franklin County (mile point 57.8) to the KY 341 interchange at Midway in Woodford County (mile point 64.8) due to contractor corrective work along the shoulders. This work is scheduled for Saturday, June 2 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

US 60 (East Main Street): Lane closures and delays possible between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Douglas Avenue (mile marker 9.3 to 9.7) due to overhead walkway construction. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 35 MPH.

US 60 (East Main Street): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Douglas Street and Langford Avenue (mile marker 9.7) due to intersection improvements. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.

KY 1005 (Devils Hollow Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the Franklin/Shelby County line and Richardson Lane (mile markers 0.0 to 6.5) due to roadway resurfacing.

Henry County:

Oldham County:

KY 22 (Ballardsville Road): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with KY 329 in Crestwood (mile marker 3.2) due to asphalt paving. Lane closures and delays are possible daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and in the evenings from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible at all times. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 25 MPH.

KY 362 (Ash Avenue): Lane closures and delays possible at Ashbrooke Drive (mile marker 2.29) due drainage improvement. Ashbrooke Drive will be closed at KY 362 beginning Monday, June 4 at 9 a.m. for culvert installation. This road will be closed for a few weeks. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 362 to Dunnlea Drive to Confederate Place Drive and then reconnect with Ashbrooke Drive.

KY 2857 (New Moody Lane):  Construction delays possible near Forrest Park Drive (mile marker 1.0) due to new route construction.

Shelby County:

Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible from just east of the KY 55 interchange (Exit 32) to the weigh station (mile markers 32.2 to 38.5) due to asphalt base failure repairs and bridge joint repairs. Lane closures are possible on weekends from 7 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Monday. Shoulder closures are possible daily due to drainage work.

Spencer County:

KY 1932 (Grays Run Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the bridge over Simpson Creek and KY 55 (mile marker 1.9 to 4.5) due to roadway resurfacing.

KY 3192 (Wilsonville Road): Lane closures and delays possible between the bridge over Elk Creek and KY 1319 (mile markers 0.06 to 1.8) due to roadway resurfacing.

Trimble County:

KY 2871 (Connector Road):  Roadway is closed at the bridge over the Little Kentucky River (mile marker 0.25) due to bridge replacement. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 1335, KY 316, US 421 and US 42.
