Severe Thunderstorms Possible on Sunday
It’s been several days since any significant rainfall. Unfortunately, our returning chances for rain on Sunday also come with a Level 1 risk for severe thunderstorms. This is a low end threat but be aware that the potential for damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and hail are possible Sunday as a weak cold front sweeps across the Bluegrass moving from the northwest to the southeast. Scattered rain showers will likely starting moving into the area later Sunday morning and continue throughout the afternoon and early evening hours. Sunday night into Monday morning will be mostly dry with decreasing clouds in the wake of the front.
Monday look for mostly sunny skies and upper 80’s as we welcome more seasonable temperatures and escape the 90’s for a day. Temperatures climb back to the 90’s on Tuesday ahead of another weak frontal boundary that moves across the area Wednesday and brings us much needed rain chances. Thursday and Friday are looking to be dry, and we are tracking a third system that could bring more possibility for rain on Saturday.
