Another nice one for Wednesday before the warm-up begins

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Wednesday! Yet another fantastic start to the day with temperatures falling into the upper 40s and low 50s for most. We will warm up a little this afternoon compared to yesterday but it’s still going to be feeling nice. Afternoon highs will be reaching the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. The UV Index is a 10 today so make sure you are reapplying the sunscreen if you are spending extended periods of time in the sunlight.

The warm-up begins on Thursday. Afternoon highs will be reaching the mid-to-upper 80s and the humidity increases a bit as well. There is a weak cold front moving in late Thursday into Friday that will briefly stunt our warm-up. Friday will still be muggy and warm in the mid-to-upper 80s, but we likely won’t hit the low 90s thanks to the added cloud cover and isolated rain chance.

Drier air briefly returns on Saturday on the backside of this front. This will limit the mugginess on Saturday, and it likely won’t feel too bad outside. Low humidity with temperatures reaching the mid-to-upper 80s. That all changes heading into Father’s Day and heat/humidity will be increasing in a major way.

Low-to-mid 90s and high humidity will be with us starting on Sunday and lasting into next week. Overnight lows will be warm as well, remaining in the low 70s. We will start to see an increase in some tropical moisture early next week that may limit our actual air temperature climb, but it’s still going to be feeling very steamy outside when you factor in the humidity. This added moisture will fire up some showers and storms that, if anything, will provide some brief relief from the hot and humid conditions. We are expected to remain above average for the next few weeks as well. So enjoy the pleasant conditions while they last for your Wednesday!
