One week until Annual Rainbow 5k Run

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – In just one week the Lexington Pride Center will be hosting their 4th Annual Rainbow Run 5k.

The race will be held on Saturday, May 18 at Coldstream Park from 6 to 8 p.m.

The goal of the race is to help fundraise for the Lexington Pride Festival in June.

Catherine Taylor with the Lexington Pride Center is excited for people to come out to the event and hopes more sign up.

“This year we’re hoping for 300,” said Taylor. “We want a bigger turn out, we want to see more people there and more energy. We think we can do it. We’re about 150 in and we think we can meet our goal. The last week is always the biggest push and we always get the most people that last week.”

There will be a few vendors and food trucks for people the come out.

You can either walk or run and there is even an option to do the run virtually.
