UPDATE: Capital Avenue Bridge in Frankfort reopens after fire
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Capital Avenue Bridge in Frankfort was temporarily closed Wednesday night after a fire in a homeless camp underneath the bridge may have damaged the structure, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The bridge was closed to traffic so the structure could be inspected around 9:00 p.m. Following the inspection, the bridge was deemed safe and it was reopened to traffic around 10:00 p.m., according to Frankfort Police.
