Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Saturday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Saturday evening everyone, it was a gorgeous day across the Commonwealth. But a very cold night is in store before temperatures warm back up leading to our all important Solar Eclipse on Monday. For now a FROST ADVISORY and FREEZE WARNING is out for the entire area through Sunday morning.

That bring us to Monday afternoon and the big Solar Eclipse. As of now, it looks like we will have to be dodging clouds and maybe a stray shower. Here is the cloud forecast under the path of totality.

Slot1

The time for us to see the partial eclipse here in central and eastern Kentucky is between 3:00pm – 3:10pm.

Slot3

Fingers crossed we end up getting clear skies just long enough for the eclipse. Temperatures will be warm regardless into the low 70s. Tuesday – Thursday then brings us rounds of rain and storms. We need to watch this time frame as we could be dealing with strong to severe storms and heavy rain.
