Breezy showers and a few storms Tuesday

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Tuesday! We are tracking gusty rain showers and a few storms out there for your Tuesday morning. Be careful on your morning commute as roads are wet from overnight rain and wind gusts are pushing the 30-40 mph range for some. The combination of wet roads and wind will lead to difficult travel for the a.m. commute. We are still expecting two rounds of rain chances today. The first round will be the morning line of showers and a few storms, this will exit by the late morning and early afternoon. Expect mainly dry conditions and a few peaks of sunshine during this period. Another round of gusty rain showers and a few storms will return along a cold front that will push through the region. The severe threat has been pushed to the north, including less of the viewing area. Areas north and west of Frankfort/Owenton have a Level 1 Severe Threat mainly due to the threat of isolated damaging wind gusts.

As the cold front exits to the east tonight, we will see improving conditions overnight. Temperatures will drop into the mid-50s for both Wednesday and Thursday.

Stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for more updates.
