A frigid night before spring comes back

Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Saturday evening everyone, it has been a chilly day across central and eastern Kentucky which is leading to a frigid night ahead. Temperatures by Sunday morning reach the mid to upper 20s with a wind chill that can drop into the upper teens.

Once again, if you have planted anything already, bring them inside or cover them up. Temperatures make a nice recovery into Sunday afternoon with mid to upper 50s. 60 is possible in southern Kentucky.

Monday morning doesn’t start nearly as cold with upper 30s to low 40s with clouds moving in.

A GORGEOUS Monday afternoon is in store with temperatures hitting the upper 60s to near 70 under a mix of sun and clouds.

As you can see, Sunday and Monday is completely dry but that changes up on Tuesday.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms will be with us through the overnight hours of Tuesday into the morning hours. Gusty winds and heavy rain will be likely.

That widespread rain will turn into scattered showers for Tuesday afternoon and evening with temperatures in the 60s.

A few lingering showers will remain into Wednesday morning but then we see drying a trend take over for a few days. But rainfall Tuesday looks to be .50″ – 1.00″ across northern Kentucky and 1.00″+ possible across the rest of the state.
