From one weather extreme to another
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Sunday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Sunday evening everyone, we are coming off of one of the more harshest winter patterns you are going to find across Kentucky with multiple mornings seeing temperatures below zero, wind chills even colder, and multiple snow chances. We have one more frigid night in store before temperatures take off into the week ahead. Temperatures to start your Monday will be into the upper single digits to low teens with wind chills a few degrees colder.
Temperatures rebound nicely into tomorrow afternoon as we hit the upper 30s to low 40s. That’ll feel like a heat wave compared to the last week. Also the drip and melt factor will be real with our snow.
Tuesday then kicks off a very rainy stretch of weather here in Kentucky as temperatures continue to climb. Rounds of heavy rain will last through the end of the week and with the snowpack melting and a saturated ground, flooding concerns could become a possibility before the week is up. Rainfall totals of 2″-4″ is also a good bet.
As always, stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates through it all.
