2nd Ky. Fish and Wildlife K-9 gets body armor donation
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — Another K-9 with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife has received a bullet- and stab-protective vest thanks to a donation from a non-profit.
Vested Interest in K9s donated the vest to Cosmo, embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love – Trained to Serve – Loyal Always”.
Cosmo is one of three Labrador retrievers, all siblings, used to assist conservation officers across the commonwealth. K-9 Gambit, partnered with Conservation Officer Cody Berry was gifted with a protective vest in December.
Each vest has a value of $1,800.
Vested Interest in K9s was established in 2009 and is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet- and stab-protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
