Crews treated Lexington roads overnight

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s Division of Streets & Roads and Water Quality say they treated roads overnight.

Due to the forecast of a wintery mix, city officials are also encouraging morning commuters to use extreme caution when driving.

Road conditions could be hazardous due to icy, slick roads – especially in neighborhoods.

Officials say motorists should slow down, increase their following distance and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.

The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Weather Plan activation also continues to remain in effect through Jan. 9.

Anyone wishing to report someone who may need a ride to shelter can call or text the Catholic Action Center’s Compassionate Caravan at (859) 913-0038 from 5 – 11 p.m.

Messages are received and followed up on, but not always returned.
