KSP: Medical assistant forged prescriptions
BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a woman who worked at a doctor’s office was forging prescriptions for a year.
According to officers, 31-year-old Ashley Young of Berea was arrested Tuesday just before 11:00 a.m. Investigators say she was working as a medical assistant at a doctor’s office and, over the course of 2015, wrote multiple prescriptions for controlled substances. Troopers say the prescriptions were given to a couple of people she knew. Police also say Young would break in to the office and alter medical records to avoid being caught.
Young has been charged with forgery of a prescription, falsification of medical records, theft of medical records, tampering with physical evidence, among other charges.
