LPD: Crash victim punches firefighter

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington police say a firefighter was assaulted when he tried to help a crash victim.

Police say the collision happened earlier today in front of the Lexington Opera House. Investigators say after the collision, a passenger got out of the vehicle, and ran off.

Firefighters were later called to a nearby parking garage to provide medical treatment to a man. When they arrived, they say the man became combative and assaulted a firefighter. Police say he was arrested.
